The Summary Information page displays a synopsis of all information entered for this case and provides you the opportunity to make changes before submitting the case. Please review it carefully. You can also view the WCMSA Account Balance and Attestation Submission page if you are identified as the administrator for the case.
Case Number
The Case Number displays at the top of this page.
If you are creating a new case due to a required resubmission of an expired case, both the new Case Number and prior Case Number display. Click the Prior Case Number hyperlink to view a read-only version of the Summary Information page for the prior Case Number.
To Edit Case Information
If any sections of the case creation are incomplete or incorrect, a message displays stating that the case information is incomplete and that required fields are missing. Any required fields that are missing or incomplete are highlighted in red and flagged with an asterisk (*).
If you need to change any case information, click Edit next to the corresponding section.
Once you click Edit for a section, you will be taken to the appropriate information entry page. Add, change, or delete any information as needed. Once you have entered the correct information, click Case Summary to return to the Summary Information page.
When a Case Expires: Required Resubmission
A case is considered expired and requires resubmission if the case has:
- Been in Closeout (CLOS) status for more than 12 months since the Closeout Letter or Closeout Email Alert was sent due to insufficient information, and
- Never been approved.
In this situation, a message will display at the top of the page indicating that you need to resubmit the case. To resubmit, you need to create a new case. Click Required Resubmission to display the New Case Creation page to continue.
Note: When creating a new case for the required case resubmission process, you will need to upload ALL documents submitted for the original case, as well as all relevant documentation for the past two years, up to the current date.
To Upload Documents
If there are still documents pending submission, the system will display the following warning on the Summary Information page: "Some documents are pending submission. Go to the Documents tab to Submit Files." This applies to any documents in a new status that are pending submission. Click Add/Replace to go to the Documents tab.
Note: If you are required to resubmit an expired case, a button displays in place of the Add/Replace button. Click View to show a read-only version of the Case Documents page.
To Add Amended Case Documents
For Amended Reviews that are still in progress, you can upload additional documentation, if necessary. Click Add to display the Amended Case Documents page to upload documentation.
If you have finished uploading documents as part of an Amended Case Re-Review, a read-only list of these documents will display on the Amended Case Documents tab. Click View on the Summary Information page to display the Amended Case Documents tab.
To Edit Medical Information
For a case that is saved as a Work-in-Progress (WIP), the ZIP code information may be edited. Click Edit to display the Medical Care page and make any necessary updates. Click Next to move to the Update Prescription Drug Information page or Case Summary to return to the Case Summary page.
If you clicked Yes and a major medical center was not matched to the ZIP code entered on the Medical tab, you will not be able to submit the case. A red asterisk will appear next to the Medical header and a note will appear in red stating more information is necessary. To resolve, either clear the field and enter a new ZIP code or click No to the question regarding proposed WCMSA settlement costs and then enter a new ZIP code.
To View Medical Information
For ZIP code searches for submitted cases, you may review the information at any time. Click View to display a read-only version of the ZIP code search and corresponding major medical center information submitted on the Medical Care page.
To Update Prescription Drug Information
If the application determines there are information or price changes to the saved drugs based on a newer Redbook version, the application will display a warning on the Summary Information page indicating that drug pricing and/or information has been changed and that you can go back and edit the Prescription Drugs screen if desired.
If the application determines that there are invalid or discontinued National Drug Codes (NDCs) for the saved drugs based on a newer Redbook version, the Summary Information page will indicate that you must go back and re-enter those drugs before submitting a case.
If you submitted an Amended Re-Review Request, the application will display the updated drug information you entered during the re-review request. Newly added drugs will display while edited drugs will display with updated information (dosage, NDCs, etc.). Deleted drugs will no longer display. Drug information you did not change will continue to display as before.
To Submit a Re-review of an Approved Case to CMS
You can submit a request to CMS to re-review a case if you disagree with the Regional Office's decision. A WCMSAP case is eligible for re-review when it is in approved status and a re-review has not already been requested. To request a re-review of a case, click Request Case Re-Review (the Case Re-Review Request page will display).
Note: This command will be disabled if the case is not eligible for the re-review request.
