The Diagnosis Codes page allows you to add diagnosis codes to a case. When creating a new case, the system requires that the case contain at least one diagnosis code. Codes can be added at any time prior to submitting a case. The primary diagnosis code must be added to the case first.
Note: You may not mix ICD-9 and ICD-10 codes on one case, so if there are ICD-10 codes on a case you may not add ICD-9 codes to it, and vice versa. Cases with an initial Date of Incident (DOI) of 10/1/2015 or later must use exclusively ICD-10 codes.
Type the diagnosis code in the text box provided, select the applicable DX Ind (diagnosis indicator), and click Add Diagnosis Code to add it to the case. Click Clear to clear the value in the text box.
If you do not know the exact diagnosis code, click Diagnosis Codes Search to go to the Diagnosis Codes Search page. (Refer to the Diagnosis Codes Search online help page for more information on searching for and adding codes.) When you have found the desired code, transfer it to the Diagnosis Code page, and then add it to the case.
To remove a diagnosis code from a case, click X next to the code. A diagnosis code can be removed from a case at any time prior to the case's submission.
The WCMSAP can accept up to 25 diagnosis codes for a given case.
