Submitting a redetermination request, which is the first level of the Medicare Appeals Process, provides you with the opportunity to challenge the amount or existence of a debt, or the initial determination (i.e., the demand letter you received).
If you are an authorized user and select View/Submit Redetermination (First Level Appeal) prior to submitting a request for a redetermination, you will see this warning page. It is important to understand the differences between a redetermination, waiver, and compromise so that you submit the proper request. Read this page entirely in order to understand the submission requirements and timelines.
If you decide to submit a redetermination (first level appeal), click Continue to proceed to the Redetermination (First Level Appeal) Submission page; otherwise, click Cancel to return to the Case Information page.
