Submitting a compromise request allows you to request that the Medicare program grant a compromise for the amount you owe on a debt and to accept a lesser amount. When submitting a compromise request, you must state the reason why you believe a compromise should be granted and include any supporting notes or documentation.
If you are an authorized user and select Submit Compromise Request, you will see this warning page. It is important to understand the differences between a redetermination, waiver, and compromise so that you submit the proper request. Read this page entirely in order to understand the submission process and determine if you meet the conditions described.
If you decide to submit a compromise request, click Continue to proceed to the Compromise Request page; otherwise, click Cancel to return to the Case Information page.
