You have the right to submit a defense if you disagree that you owe money, as explained in the demand letter, or if you disagree with the amount that you owe. This action allows you to view or submit a defense on the CRCP.
You may submit a defense for claims or claim lines associated with the case as long as none of the following criteria are true:
- 180 days have passed from the Date of Demand, or
- The Case has been referred to Treasury, or
- The Account Receivable balance is zero.
If any of the above criteria are true, then this action only allows you to view any previous defense submissions.
The submit action is disabled if the case does not meet the criteria to submit a defense and there are no previous defense submissions for the case.
