The wildcard percent sign (%) can be used to retrieve variations of the Beneficiary Medicare ID (HICN or MBI). When used, it replaces one or more characters at the end of the Beneficiary Medicare ID. Only one percent sign can be entered and it must be placed at the end of the Beneficiary Medicare ID search term. When using the wildcard symbol in the Beneficiary Medicare ID field, a minimum of 5 characters must be entered (four characters plus the percent sign).
